Insurance Claims Made Hassle-Free
We handle all the paperwork. You give us your policy number and we take it from there — no forms to fill, no waiting for reimbursement, no surprise bills.
You Choose Your Shop. That's the Law.
Under Colorado Revised Statute 10-4-613, your insurance company cannot require you to use any specific repair facility for auto glass replacement. They may suggest their preferred vendors, but you have the absolute right to choose who does the work.
When you choose 5280 Glass Pro, you get certified technicians, OEM glass, ADAS calibration when required, and a lifetime warranty. Not a subcontractor your insurer picked for the lowest bid.
How the Insurance Claim Process Works
We have done this thousands of times. Here is exactly what happens when you file a claim through us.
Call Us First
Call (303) 838-8383. Have your insurance company name and policy number ready. We identify your glass and check inventory before anything else.
We Call Your Insurer
We contact your insurance company, open the claim, verify your coverage, and get authorization. You do not have to be on hold with your insurer.
We Schedule
Once authorization is confirmed, we schedule your mobile appointment. Same-day service available for Front Range calls before noon.
We Come to You
Our mobile tech arrives at your home or office with the correct OEM glass and everything needed for a complete install.
Full Install
We remove, clean, and install with cold-weather-rated urethane adhesive. ADAS recalibration performed if your vehicle requires it.
We Bill Them Directly
We invoice your insurance company directly. No check from you, no reimbursement form, no follow-up. Done.
Glass Claims Don't Raise Your Rates
This is one of the most common questions we get, and the answer is straightforward. Auto glass claims are filed under comprehensive coverage, not collision coverage.
Comprehensive coverage handles events outside your control: rock chips, weather damage, theft, falling objects. Your premium is based on your driving record, age, vehicle type, and location. Not glass claims.
We explain this to every customer. If you have comprehensive coverage, use it. That is what you are paying for.
What Affects Your Rate
- Driving record Affects rate
- Age and experience Affects rate
- Vehicle type and value Affects rate
- Location and zip code Affects rate
- Glass claims (comprehensive) No impact
- Chip repair claims No impact

Insurance Questions
-
Do I have a deductible for windshield replacement?
It depends on your policy. Many comprehensive policies have a $0 deductible for glass claims, especially if you added zero-deductible glass coverage. Colorado law requires insurers to offer this as an option. We check your deductible when we verify coverage — before we schedule, not after.
-
What if my insurer says I have to use their preferred shop?
They cannot legally require it. Under Colorado Revised Statute 10-4-613, you choose your repair shop. If your insurer pushes back, tell them you are exercising your rights under CRS 10-4-613. We have navigated this situation hundreds of times and can help you assert your choice.
-
Will insurance cover ADAS calibration?
Most comprehensive claims for windshield replacement include ADAS calibration because it is required for the vehicle to be safe. We document the calibration requirement and include it in the claim authorization. Most major carriers cover it.
-
Does insurance cover chip repair?
Yes. Chip repair is almost always covered under comprehensive coverage, often with no deductible. It is far less expensive for your insurer than a full replacement, so many carriers prioritize chip repair coverage. Call us and we will verify your chip repair coverage before scheduling.
-
How long does the insurance authorization take?
Typically 20 to 45 minutes on the phone. We handle the call during business hours while you go about your day. Once we have authorization, we schedule your appointment — same-day for most Front Range calls placed before noon.
