Smart Glass & Electrochromic Tint in Denver — PDLC Film Installation
PDLC smart film transitions from fully clear to completely dark in 1-3 seconds at the touch of a button. We install electrochromic and PDLC smart tint on Tesla panoramic roofs, luxury vehicles, and any vehicle glass where on-demand privacy and UV control matters.
Tint That Responds to You. Not the Other Way Around.
Traditional window tint is a fixed state — dark all day, every day, whether you want it or not. Smart glass gives you control. At the press of a button, your panoramic roof, rear glass, or side windows go from fully clear to privacy-dark in under three seconds. Press it again and they clear completely. No compromise between privacy and natural light.
We install PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) film — the technology behind most smart glass applications in vehicles. PDLC film uses liquid crystals suspended in a polymer matrix. When a 12V electrical signal is applied, the crystals align and the film becomes transparent. Remove the current, and the crystals scatter, creating an opaque, privacy state. The film draws minimal power — many configurations only consume electricity during the transition itself, not while holding a state.
We also install electrochromic glass, which uses a different mechanism: a thin-film tungsten oxide layer changes tint level in response to low-voltage electrical current. Electrochromic glass transitions more gradually than PDLC and can hold intermediate tint levels for customized shade control. Both technologies block 99%+ UV radiation in all tint states, protecting passengers and interiors from Colorado's intense high-altitude sun.
Control is flexible. We integrate with a physical dashboard switch, a remote control, or a smartphone app depending on your vehicle and preference. For Tesla installations, we wire directly into the vehicle's 12V accessory circuit. For other vehicles, we identify the cleanest integration point that does not require visible modifications.
Tesla Panoramic Roof Smart Film
Tesla's panoramic glass roof is stunning — and it turns the cabin into a greenhouse in Colorado summer. The Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X all have large glass canopies that transmit enormous amounts of solar heat. We custom-cut PDLC smart film to fit Tesla's exact panel dimensions and laminate it with precision. The result: a roof that is fully clear when you want the open sky and fully dark when you want privacy or heat control. No structural modification to the vehicle, no voiding your warranty on the glass itself.
Smart Glass for Homes and Businesses
PDLC smart film is not limited to vehicles. We install smart film on residential skylights, bathroom windows, home office glass, and commercial conference room partitions. If you want instant switchable privacy on any glass surface, we handle the measurement, custom fabrication, and installation.
Our Smart Glass Installation Process
Consultation & Measurement
We assess your vehicle or space, measure the glass panels, and discuss control options. Every smart film job is custom — no off-the-shelf rolls applied by eye.
Film Fabrication
PDLC film is cut to your exact panel dimensions with clean factory-edge precision. Electrical leads placed at the correct positions for seamless wiring integration.
Surface Prep
Glass surface cleaned and decontaminated. Any existing tint removed. The substrate must be pristine for the lamination bond to hold correctly.
Laminate & Bond
Film laminated to the glass surface with optical adhesive. Air fully evacuated. Edges sealed. No bubbles, no delamination points.
Electrical Integration
12V wiring routed cleanly through the vehicle or building. Switch, remote, or app controller installed. System tested for clean transitions.
Demo & Warranty
Full system demonstration — we walk you through every control option. Lifetime warranty activated on film and installation.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is electrochromic tint and how does it work?
Electrochromic tint uses a tungsten oxide core sandwiched in multilayered glass that changes tint level when a small electrical current is applied. PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) film works differently — liquid crystals align when voltage is applied, making the film transparent, and scatter when voltage is removed, creating an opaque state. Both technologies give you on-demand control over light, heat, and privacy. The transition takes 1-3 seconds and is controlled by a physical switch, remote, or smartphone app. -
Can you install smart glass on a Tesla?
Yes. Tesla panoramic roofs are one of the most popular applications for PDLC smart film. We custom-cut and laminate the film to fit the glass panel precisely, integrate with the vehicle's 12V electrical system, and install the control switch. The result is a roof that goes fully clear to privacy-dark at the touch of a button — no more heat blanket on your head on a Denver summer afternoon. -
Does smart glass work on residential and commercial windows too?
Yes. PDLC smart film is applicable to any glass — vehicle, residential, or commercial. We install smart film on conference room glass, home skylights, bathroom windows, and any application where switchable privacy is useful. The installation process and technology are the same as in vehicles. -
What is your warranty?
We back all workmanship and materials with a lifetime warranty. If a windshield we installed ever leaks, separates, or fails due to installation error, we fix it at no charge. Our glass carries the manufacturer's warranty against defects. Window tint, paint protection film, and vehicle wraps are all covered by both the manufacturer's film warranty and our installation lifetime guarantee.
